Optional analytics

Analytics is off until you allow it.

With your permission, Google Analytics measures visits and sessions, traffic sources, page views, 90% scrolling and selected actions: waitlist-button clicks, form starts, accepted signup requests and language changes. It also processes browser/device information and approximate location. We use it to understand how people find and use OCTO.

The Google tag loads only after you allow analytics. Rejecting or withdrawing stops collection; you can still use the site. Registration is currently paused independently of cookie choices. Analytics consent is separate from waitlist and newsletter consent. Advertising personalization and Google signals are disabled.

Cookiebot by Usercentrics manages your choice using the necessary CookieConsent cookie, which lasts one calendar month. Its separate published End User Data retention is 12 months; account-specific consent-log arrangements remain under review. The old OCTO analytics choice is no longer used. Statistics cookies require a new Cookiebot choice. After consent, _ga and _ga_CCXN1DEMRF distinguish browsers and sessions. Both have lifetimes up to 180 days. In our revisit check, _ga kept its original expiry, while activity renewed the session cookie _ga_CCXN1DEMRF. Withdrawal removes these Google cookies and reloads pages that had loaded Analytics, which can reset an unfinished form. It does not erase measurements already received by Google.

We send only fixed page names, the referring site's origin, approved campaign labels and the actions listed above. Email addresses, questionnaire answers and signed confirmation/recovery links are excluded. Confirmation, newsletter and email-preferences pages do not load Google Analytics.

Language preference

OCTO remembers an explicitly selected website language in this browser using octo-language local storage. It has no automatic expiry. You can remove that preference below or clear site data in your browser. It is separate from email and waitlist choices.

Security checks

Cloudflare Turnstile checks new waitlist and newsletter signups to reduce automated abuse. It is loaded at the final waitlist step, or when you submit a newsletter opt-in. OCTO does not enable Turnstile pre-clearance. Unsubscribing does not require this check.

Cloudflare Turnstile privacy notice

The website is public; signups and waitlist and newsletter emails remain paused. The legal release still identifies outstanding provider, security-storage, retention and email-tracking checks.
